Speech Pathology

Strong communication skills help children connect, learn, and participate in everyday life. Our Speech Pathologists support children to communicate in ways that are meaningful, practical, and suited to their individual needs.

Our speech team:

  • Supports children to express their needs, thoughts, and feelings more effectively.
  • Uses child-centred strategies to build communication skills in everyday settings.

Support may focus on:

  • Speech clarity and sound development.
  • Listening, understanding, and following directions.
  • Building vocabulary, sentence structure, and language skills appropriate for age.
  • Social communication skills such as turn-taking, gestures, eye contact, tone, and conversation.

Therapy outcomes can include:

  • Clearer speech and improved understanding by others.
  • Stronger social interaction and problem-solving skills.
  • Feeding support when this is part of the child’s needs.
  • Greater readiness for kinder and school transitions.

For children who use non-verbal communication or need extra support, we can also introduce visual supports and assistive communication options. Our goal is to help every child communicate with confidence at home, in education settings, and in the community.

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapists help children develop the practical skills they need for daily life, so they can participate with greater confidence at home, in learning environments, and in the wider community.

Our occupational therapists:

  • Look at physical, sensory, and thinking skills that affect everyday participation.
  • Create engaging and personalised therapy to support independence.

Therapy can support:

  • Fine motor skills for handwriting, cutlery use, and handling smaller items.
  • Participation in routines, play, and meaningful daily activities.
  • Social interaction, play development, and confidence in shared spaces.
  • More advanced tasks such as organising homework and managing routines.
  • Sensory tolerance for activities like brushing teeth, hair washing, toileting, and managing food textures.
  • Better access to education, family life, and community experiences.

Whether the goal is dressing, writing, sensory regulation, or managing day-to-day routines, our Occupational Therapists design therapy around each child’s strengths and challenges. Through enjoyable, purposeful activities, we help children build skills that make everyday life more manageable and rewarding.

Early Childhood Intervention

The early years play a major role in a child’s development. Our early childhood intervention services are designed to provide timely support during these important years and respond to a broad range of developmental needs.

Our early intervention team:

  • Provides evidence-based therapy and support for children up to 9 years of age.
  • Delivers services through allied health therapists and education professionals.

We help children build skills in:

  • Speech and communication.
  • Emotional regulation.
  • Self-care skills such as dressing and toileting.
  • Independence and school readiness.
  • Areas related to diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other suspected developmental delays.
  • Short-term, goal-based groups, developmental assessment clinics, and support for parents and carers.
  • Managing behaviour in everyday community situations such as shopping trips or family events.
  • A personalised, family-focused approach that supports both the child and their wider network.
  • Home visits, practical resources, and goal-based support from Key Workers.
  • Visits to schools, childcare settings, and community environments to maintain consistency across settings.

Our work extends beyond direct support for the child. We partner with families to build practical strategies for daily life and challenging situations. This family-centred approach helps children and carers feel more confident, capable, and supported while working toward meaningful developmental goals.

Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapists support children to build the movement skills they need for confidence, participation, and active everyday living.

Our physiotherapy team:

  • Works with children who have delayed gross motor development or coordination difficulties.
  • Uses movement-focused therapy to improve strength, posture, balance, and mobility.

Physiotherapy can support:

  • Posture and mobility for tasks like rolling, sitting, standing, and moving between positions.
  • Gross motor development including walking, running, climbing, hopping, and swimming.
  • Ball skills and involvement in active play and recreation.

Each physiotherapy program is tailored to the child’s stage of development and individual goals. Through play-based activities, we help children build strength, improve movement patterns, and increase participation at home, at school, and in the community.

Positive Behaviour Support

When behaviours begin to affect routines, relationships, and family wellbeing, our Positive Behaviour Support practitioners work alongside families to develop practical strategies that make daily life easier and more positive.

Our practitioners:

  • Work with families to understand behaviours that are affecting participation and everyday routines.
  • Focus on the reasons behind behaviour so supports are respectful, effective, and meaningful.

Support may include:

  • Managing meltdowns and difficult moments in community settings.
  • Developing emotional regulation skills.
  • Creating supportive routines at home and outside the home.
  • Teaching positive, adaptive skills that improve safety, participation, and wellbeing.
  • Reducing barriers to independence for children and carers.

We believe meaningful progress happens when children and families are supported together. By using evidence-based strategies and tailored guidance, we help reduce stress, build life skills, and support greater confidence and independence across everyday situations.

Allied Health Assistants

Our Allied Health Assistants work with therapists to provide extra hands-on support throughout a child’s therapy journey in a way that feels welcoming, encouraging, and familiar.

Our assistants:

  • Help deliver therapy programs under the direction of qualified allied health professionals.
  • Support children to stay engaged, comfortable, and motivated during sessions.

They may assist with:

  • Practising therapy goals through structured and guided activities.
  • Providing calm, positive support during therapy sessions.
  • Building confidence through repetition, routine, and encouragement.
  • Helping therapists and families maintain progress between formal appointments.
  • Creating a more enjoyable and supportive therapy experience.

Allied Health Assistants can become an important part of a child’s support network. Their role is to reinforce therapist-led programs, provide extra opportunities for practice, and help children feel supported as they develop important everyday skills.

Support Workers

Our Support Workers provide practical, caring assistance that helps children with developmental needs grow in confidence, strengthen daily living skills, and take part more fully in everyday experiences.

Our support workers:

  • Provide reliable day-to-day support based on each child’s needs and goals.
  • Help children feel safe, encouraged, and supported as they build independence.

They can support children with:

  • Daily routines and personal development at home and in the community.
  • Building confidence through regular encouragement and positive guidance.
  • Practising social, communication, and everyday life skills in real situations.
  • Joining activities that encourage inclusion, learning, and wellbeing.
  • Working toward greater independence and more meaningful participation in daily life.

Support Workers help children carry their skills beyond therapy sessions and into real-life experiences. With consistent and caring support, children can feel more connected, capable, and confident in their routines, relationships, and community participation.
